Jim Gazaway Jim Shimel Tammy Colladay Bob Colladay The Gazaway Mountain Boys

Jim Shimel - A native of Lebanon, Missouri, Jim has lived most of his life on the plains of Kansas. He started learning to play the 5-string banjo in the 80's. Soon after he started playing with a local band, then spent the rest of the 80's and early 90's performing with several local and regional bands throughout Kansas. Now, after a decade of "laying out" (during which he was blessed with starting a family) he is back at it! And is glad to be a member of the GMB's

Bob Colladay - Gazaway Mountain Boys' Bass player and vocalist hails from Reno County. A graduate of the Nickerson school system, he was kicked out of choir and band in his freshman year and 6th grade respectfully. You may never have heard of Bob in previous bands; The Cudas and Highway 50 Hammer. Bob has been on stage in local theatre, performing in many shows in the last 7 years. He is Vice-President of The Hutchinson Theatre Guild and The Kansas old-Time Fiddlers Pickers and Singer - Cow Creek Chapter.

Tammy Colladay - The Prairie Petunia sings and occasionally strums an assortment of stringed instruments with The Boys. Tammy is a lifelong Reno County Resident and has been singing in public for almost 10 years. Think Patsy Cline and then some. Watch for her to keep the boys in line - quite a tall order.

Dave Schimming - Dave has played on and off with the GMB since late 2006 after they all met at a Bluegrass Jam and then again at Winfield. Dave sings, plays guitar, mandolin and banjo.

To hear Dave tell it, there is apparently another University in Kansas other than the one in Lawrence. Something about this "other" school's little football program puts a damper on Dave's ability to attend GMB functions on Saturdays in the fall. Rumor has it that this has something to do with a purple Ukulele.

Robert Hooker - Robert joined the GMBs in the summer of 2008. Bob met Robert playing at old-time fiddlers and pickers and performs with him at the Good Samaritan Center in Hutch. Robert plays Dobro and occasionally jaw-harp. By adding a second Bob we are now able to change our name to: "Tammy-Dave & The JimBobs"

Robert is the Great-Grandson of Blues legend John Lee Hooker.
